- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, sub-ledgers and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
- Monitor and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring timely and accurate postings.
- Prepare variance analyses and financial reports for management review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Maintain documentation for financial transactions and ensure proper recordkeeping for audit readiness.
- Provides support and guidance to branches and employees on accounting and administrative policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Performs and prepares special analysis and projects as assigned.
- Acts as backup to other team members as required; instigates collaboration and information sharing.
- Proactively identifies and recommends process improvements for better efficiency.
- Prepare regulatory reporting workbooks and provide supporting documentation.
- Create and update processes and record-keeping practices to align with evolving regulatory requirements.
- Provide analysis of changes in reporting lines month-to-month.
- Reconcile GL data and financial statements to FSR and CAR reporting.
- Prepare and file Stats Canada reports accurately and on time.
- Reconcile data across multiple regulatory reports.
- Provide monthly data templates and reports to ProFinancial.
- Maintain GLs in GP, Chrome River, and DNA systems, including adding/inactivating accounts, MDA codes, and department codes.
- Maintain and update the DNA to GP mapping document.
- Maintain GP Management Reporter financial reports
- Collaborate with branches and other departments to support reconciliation and reporting needs.
- Assist with general ledger system reports and reconciliation tasks.
- Review and follow up on general ledger reconciliation control sheets and reconciliations.
- Support reconciliation activities and ensure accuracy across systems.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to support financial planning.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field, an asset.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a similar role; experience in a financial institution is preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

- Experience with joint venture structures and reporting. (Subsidiary focus only)
