- Job Description
- Designing electrical power systems and their layout for various substation projects
- Participating in the detailed engineering for the production of schematics, switchgear layout plans and earthing plans
- Preparing project deliverables such as plan views, elevations, including detail drawings, miscellaneous layouts, diagrams, specifications, lists, etc.
- Carrying out or validating studies and calculations for sizing equipment, selecting gauges and laying power cables, auxiliary services, lightning protection, etc.
- Selecting equipment and quantifying quantities
- Co-ordinating electrical equipment work with other related engineering disciplines, such as structural, civil, control and protection, mechanical, building engineering and architectural.
- Coordinating the project with the client(s)
- Profile
- University Degree in electrical engineering
- Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligible for registration
- More than five (5) years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Hydro-Québec or other public utility standards
- Knowledge of substation switchgear engineering
- Fluency in written and spoken French
- Knowledge of relevant standards and design codes, including the Québec Electrical Code
