- Conduct wetland delineation, classification, and functional assessments using Alberta Wetland Policy guidelines and field protocols.
- Prepare and submit Wetland Impact Reports (WIRFs), Wetland Assessment and Replacement Reports (WARFs), and associated regulatory documentation to provincial authorities.
- Collaborate with government agencies, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable wetland policies and regulations.
- Plan and conduct field studies, including vegetation surveys, hydrology monitoring, and soil sampling in boreal and parkland regions.
- Use GIS software to develop wetland maps and analyze spatial data.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet client and regulatory expectations.
- Design and oversee wetland restoration or compensation projects, ensuring alignment with Alberta’s Wetland Policy.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field.
- Eligibility for or possession of P.Biol. designation with the Alberta Society of Professional Biologists (ASPB) is strongly preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in wetland assessment, regulatory processes, and restoration projects in Alberta.
- Strong understanding of Alberta Wetland Policy, WIRFs, and WARFs.
- GIS mapping and data analysis considered an asset
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with vegetation and hydrology field techniques specific to boreal and parkland regions.
- Experience in permitting and consultation for industrial, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects.
