- Lead the closing processes, including review of journal entries and detailed variance analysis.
- Prepare, analyze and present accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Review sub-ledger schedules, reconcile with the general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies - ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for complex transactions.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking related tasks.
- Review, analyze and provide reports as requested for decision making purposes.
- Design, implement and maintain robust internal control procedures for all accounting functions.
- Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for TMS Finance team
- Supervise, train and review the work of staff to ensure quality of work and adherence to deadlines.
- Provide coaching and guidance to staff on professional development.
- Assist with providing data for corporate tax reporting requirements, audits, insurance claims, etc.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Manage ad-hoc financial projects.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting goals, policies, priorities and procedures.
- Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
- Perform other accounting duties/projects as assigned.
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in business, commerce, accounting or related discipline
- Minimum five years of relevant work experience
- CPA designation preferred
- Strong technical accounting, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including prior experience in the use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, filtering and organizing large volume of data
- Proven ability to work as part of a team contributing to a positive and progressive work environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong supervisory, verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset
