Responsibilities:
  • Leading a team of 5-6 Customs Represents.
  • Assist approximately 60 facilities across North America with importing and exporting processes.
  • Consult on North American customs regulations & tariffs.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and evaluate the services and operations of several different outsourced customs brokers.
  • Provide classification consulting and guidance to internal facilities on customs-related matters.
  • Stay updated on changing customs regulations and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Engage with and utilize various technologies, including Microsoft apps and ERP systems to enhance customs operations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in customs compliance, preferably within manufacturing or automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of North American customs regulations, with a particular emphasis on U.S. import regulations and trade agreements.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation preferred, or actively working towards obtaining it with relevant practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong disposition to learn and engage with new technologies, including artificial intelligence and various software applications.
  • Experience with classification consulting and advising facilities on customs matters.
  • A customer service mindset due to the service-oriented nature of the role.
  • Ability to work effectively in an in-office environment.
