- Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs, objectives, and explore opportunities.
- Act as a direct lender under the ACLP program: review, prioritize and approve loan applications while assessing financial viability.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and make recommendations for full underwriting.
- Manage risk by exercising prudence and due diligence while reviewing, assessing and approving applications.
- Work in partnership with clients, stakeholders, and various levels of government by offering advice, support and alternative solutions.
- Review underwriting reports, assess findings, and negotiate terms to ensure alignment with CMHC's operational policy and approval authority.
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field related to real estate such as business administration, accounting, finance or commerce, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction financing, real estate, financial markets or credit risk analysis for Multi-Unit properties.
- Demonstrated experience working with financial viability and loan approvals.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, evaluating and prioritizing loans.
- The ability to research issues, analyze problems, synthesize information and make recommendations.
- The ability to manage files and issues (sensitive in nature) using critical thinking and judgement.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Solid oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English), with the ability to clearly convey decisions and address objections.
- Experience or knowledge in property management, real estate appraisal, property inspection, project monitoring or development, or real estate law is considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a professional association designation such as CRF, AACI, CA, CMA, CFA, or CPM.
- Experience in building reports and/or in using statistical analysis software such as MS Excel.
