Work That Matters, People Who Care.Job DescriptionWHATS THE JOB?We are looking for a motivated Strategic Intelligence CO-OP Student for the Fall 2025 term!Location: Remote or Hybrid (preference for candidates with interest in Can commercial real estate markets)
Reporting To: EVP, Growth- Facilities Management.About the Role:
We are looking for a curious, motivated intern to support a 16-week project that explores trends in Canada’s commercial real estate development landscape. This internship will give you hands-on experience in market research, data analysis, and strategy development, while contributing to Dexterra’s understanding of how technology, sustainability, and post covid tendencies are shaping the future of facilities and property management.What You’ll Do:
  • Research & Data Collection (Weeks 1–4):
  • Gather information on new commercial builds in targeted areas across Canada.
  • Organize and track data from public and private sources.
  • Build a contact list of property managers and key market players.
  • Analysis & Insights (Weeks 5–10):
  • Evaluate industry trends in technology adoption, sustainability practices, and tenant needs.
  • Monitor government programs, regulations, and zoning changes that impact development.
  • Help identify opportunities and challenges in the market.
  • Reporting & Recommendations (Weeks 11–16):
  • Contribute to a final report and dashboard summarizing findings.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the Facilities Management leadership team.
  • Suggest ways to keep collecting market intelligence after the internship ends.
Deliverables:
  • Database of commercial builds and property managers.
  • Weekly progress updates to your manager.
  • A final presentation and report with actionable insights.
QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
  • Interest in data analysis, research, and commercial real estate.
  • Experience with Excel, data tools, or AI-powered research platforms is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to present findings in a simple, professional way.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
