Our current research project is coming to a close, with a conference and exhibition occurring in late October 2025. The project team is seeking an advanced undergraduate student to aid with the exhibition preparation in July and August.Responsibilities:Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Doreen Balabanoff, in support of the project’s research goals and objectivesCommunicating with exhibition participantsAssisting with data collection and record keeping of communications and submitted works for the exhibitionAssisting with preparation of materials for the exhibition and catalogue (digital and print media)Assisting with the promotion of research activitiesAssisting with project coordination, budget management and administration of research activitiesWorking with Technicians and other research personnel, where relevant, by ensuring the appropriate and safe use of materials, equipment and/or facilitiesParticipating in the provision of safe and secure environment for all members of the University community and its facilitiesQualifications:
  • Completion of a relevant undergraduate or current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate program and/or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Where relevant, strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communications and problem-solving skills
  • Interest or experience in architecture, interior design, design for healthcare is an asset
  • Where relevant, sound knowledge of, and commitment to, healthy and safe work practices
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment for students, staff and facultyHours of Work: 10 hours per week over the period of July 21, 2025 to August 31, 2025Work Environment: The position may be remote work, with the provision that meetings will be online during normal working hours Eastern Time.Compensation: $23.54 (Undergraduate Rate) per hour, subject to qualifications, plus 6% in lieu of benefits plus vacation pay, as applicable, per the provisions of the Employment Standards ActPlease note the following:

  • Current students at OCAD University will be given priority consideration for all Research Assistant positions, with the highest priority given to those not currently holding any other TA/RA positions at the University.
