Context:Reporting to the Environmental Head and Part of a large Rail & Transit Project team, Systra is looking for an Environmental Design & Approvals Senior Manager. Missions/Main Duties:
  • Completes the review of previously completed investigations and reporting.
  • Identify data gaps and commitments and Oversees development of the Investigation scope and schedule.
  • Lead the subject matter expert team tasked to complete Due Diligence work and reporting.
  • Incorporation of requirements into design.
  • Confirmation that requirements and commitments are executed.
  • Leads environmental design integration across all technical disciplines for the project corridor.
  • Oversees environmental approvals strategy and ensures compliance with EA commitments, permits, and regulatory conditions.
  • Coordinates with design teams, construction leads, and regulators to resolve environmental risks.
  • Responsible for environmental deliverables (including EMPs), schedules, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Profile/Skills:8 - 10 years of work-related experience on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity to the Project;a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in planning, environmental planning, geography, environmental engineering or another related discipline;knowledge of the Province of Ontario’s Transit Rail Project Assessment Process, GO Transit Class EA Document, and Environmental Assessment Act (Ontario);experience in successfully managing all Environmental Aspects of transit projects in the Province of Ontario;knowledge of relevant federal and Ontario environmental policies, procedures and legislation experience with implementation and management of environmental management systems that conform to ISO 14001;Experience liaising with other specialty consultants, contractors and Governmental Authorities; andexperience with similar projects in the Province of Ontario.P.
