  • Coordinating with the Project Lead and Construction Superintendent - Section Head, drafting and planning the Construction Work Package documentation and requirements for the project. Ensuring that information and actions are recorded before signing off on the Construction Initiation Request (CIR) form.
  • Preparing the Construction Work Package (CWP) requirements to be utilized by the project team, to ensure compliance with Quality Program Selection and Safety requirements during the construction phase, and draft the Construction Package Checklist (CPC) to:
  • Aligning with the Scope of Work (SOW).
  • Complying with contract requirements.
  • Coordinating the initial CPC meeting with the project team.
  • Preparing the draft CPC for review and acceptance by the project team.
  • Preparing the Construction Implementation Plan (CIP) and ensuring all deliverables are received and accepted for signoff before the start of mobilization and construction.
  • Assisting the project team throughout the lifecycle of a project and the phases of the process with:
  • Establishing construction requirements and deliverables.
  • Compiling the CWP documentation in an electronic format for the CPC.
  • Filing and controlling documentation within management system processes.
  • Compiling the supplied contract deliverables for the Master History File/Docket.
  • Compiling the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) documents for the Master History File/Docket.
  • Organizing recurring project team meetings to ensure the contents of the CPC are up to date and current.
  • Interfacing with all organizations to ensure all deliverable submittals are completed.
  • Reviewing the Master History File/Docket with the Project Team, the completeness of the CPC.
  • Completing and circulating the Construction Completion Assurance document for acceptance.
  • Finalizing the CPC for review and acceptance by the acceptors.
  • Ensuring the Master History File/Docket is sent to CNL’s Documents/Records management system for archiving as per Records Retention and Disposition Procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant field from an accredited school.
  • Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Thorough understanding of the core elements of Construction Activities and the processes included in the project life cycle.
  • Project management courses completed in the following core elements and a full working knowledge of the computer-based applications used for project management purposes (i.e. spreadsheets, databases and specialized scheduling software).
  • A good understanding of Projects / Construction procedures.
  • An advanced-level working knowledge of MS Office, as well as the computer-based applications used for project management purposes.
  • Proficient in gathering and analyzing project data, identifying anomalies and taking the next steps
  • A good understanding of the methods and resources used by functions engaged to perform project activities; (e.g. engineering, procurement, licensing, quality assurance, procurement, manufacturing, etc.) as well as the deliverables typically produced.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to deliver to deadlines and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to operate at the hub of a project, alongside the Construction Superintendent, Construction Section Head and Manager of Construction.
  • A sound knowledge of the core project Construction Activities and general knowledge of a number of other subjects.
  • An effective communicator who easily forms effective working relationships.
  • Ability to quickly discern arising issues and demonstrate tact in effectively recommending or initiating corrective actions.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
