Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join a team in Barrie, Ontario, Canada . The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the Engineering Department, ensuring the effective design, development, and implementation of production facilities, systems, and processes. This role requires a proven track record in engineering leadership, project management, and process improvement within a regulated production environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers to support product launches, equipment installation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to transition new innovations into full-scale manufacturing.
  • Develop and execute automation and process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of equipment, utilities, and systems required for production operations.
  • Provide technical support to R&D, Production, and Facilities departments, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Direct and manage all aspects of project planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Monitor and manage capital expenditures and operational budgets for engineering-related initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all projects and operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a management capacity.
  • Background in industrial or production environments is required; experience in pharmaceutical, food, or cannabis industries is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage across multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and ERP systems (SAP experience is an asset).
