The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra (MCO) is a Winnipeg-based arts organization committed to continually reimagining the chamber orchestra experience through bold programming, transformative collaborations, and deep community engagement. The generosity of our supporters makes it all possible.We’re looking for a Director of Development to be the architect of our fundraising efforts. In this role, you’ll oversee a full spectrum of development activities – individual and major giving, corporate sponsorships, grants and foundations, planned giving, special events and fundraising, and our endowment. You’ll work closely with our Executive Director, Board, and Development Committee, and collaborate with a creative, tight-knit team where everyone pitches in to make big things happen.Your Role
  • Lead Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement annual fundraising plans aligned with organizational priorities, set and track targets, and report on progress.
  • Grow Individual Giving: Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at all levels, including planned giving and major gifts, ensuring every supporter feels valued and connected to the impact of their gift.
  • Build Corporate Partnerships: Expand sponsorships, craft compelling proposals, and deliver creative recognition opportunities that strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Secure Grants & Foundations: Research and prospect new opportunities, prepare strong proposals, and manage reporting to ensure compliance and continued support.
  • Shape Memorable Events: Plan and deliver fundraising and stewardship events that engage donors, patrons, and community members, from intimate cultivation gatherings to larger fundraising initiatives.
  • Champion Philanthropy: Work with staff, board, and volunteers to nurture a culture of generosity across the organization.
  • Community Engagement: Support donor and audience experience at concerts and events, ensuring the MCO is always welcoming, professional, and connected to the community.
