Reporting to the Environmental and sustainability Superintendent, you will be part of the Environmental and Sustainability department. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.Design and implement surface water monitoring programs (e.g., flow, precipitation, runoff)Support site-wide water balance assessments and stormwater management planningMonitor and report on water quality and quantity across operational areasDevelop and maintain hydrological models using tools such as HEC-HMS, SWMM, or GoldSimConduct predictive modeling to support mine planning, tailings management, and closure scenariosAnalyze climate and hydrometric data to assess seasonal and long-term water trendsEnsure compliance with water-related permits and environmental regulationsPrepare technical reports and submissions for regulatory agenciesSupport environmental audits and inspections related to water systemsWork closely with hydrogeologists, geotechnical engineers, and environmental scientistsCommunicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholdersContribute to environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategiesQualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, or a related fieldMinimum 3–5 years of experience in hydrology, preferably in mining or industrial settingsProficiency in hydrological modeling software and GIS toolsStrong understanding of Canadian water regulations and permitting processesExcellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skillsAbility to work in remote environments and adapt to field conditionExcellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPointYour Work Schedule:Schedule: 5 days of work followed by 2 days off, with 4 days of work followed by 3 days off at Detour Lake Mine.Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee.
