- Load material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks.
- Operate a wash plant for safe and quality minded operation.
- Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary
- Keep facilities clean and tidy.
- Maneuver heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions
- Participate, accept, and adopt the principles described in the company safety program
- Other duties as required
- Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated.
- Capable of working independently, promote a positive and safe work environment working collaboratively with team members & other management in the field in a physically demanding and fast paced work environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, belt splicing, cleaning, etc.
- Valid class 5 driver's license with clean driver's abstract.
- First Aid & WHMIS certificates are considered and asset.
- Overtime as required
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
- Must be physically able to work general labour
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry 50 LBS as needed
- Use of personal protection equipment is required
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
