The Role:Set up and safely operate manual machines to precise specificationsMachine petrochemical and static castings following SOPs and ISO-standard routing instructionsAccurately record work data and heat numbers on operator worksheetsTroubleshoot machining issues independently and maintain equipment functionalityGrind custom tools on a pedestal grinder and operate VDF lathes for advanced machining tasksWork with a variety of equipment including horizontal boring mills and portable bevellersMaintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to all safety protocols * Report equipment or part defects promptly and collaborate with supervisors or team leadsYou Bring:
High school diploma (Grade 12) required
Machinist Apprenticeship Certification preferred; Red Seal is an asset4+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing setting preferredStrong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and proceduresFamiliarity with ERP or SAP systems is an assetProficient with measuring tools (e.g., vernier, micrometers, bore gauges)Solid understanding of surface requirements, tolerances, and maintenance proceduresExperience using overhead cranes or jib hoists is an asset
