Our client, an established and growing events and hospitality company, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to join their team in a permanent capacity working 4 days per week. This is a full cycle accounting position which is ideal for candidates who have experience handling diverse bookkeeping duties, financial reporting, inventory management, and other accounting functions in a multi-entity setting. Full cycle accounts payable including processing employee expenses
Accurate entry of sales invoices, payments and deposits
Track and record EFT payments daily
Perform intercompany journal entries and reconciliations
Prepare weekly cash flow projections to inform vendor payment schedules
Complete bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations
Generate and analyze monthly P&L statements
Compile year-end financial documentation for external accounting firm
Calculate and submit accurate government remittances
Additional duties as required
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting in a multiple entity setting
Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop is required for this position
Experience within the hospitality or food & beverage sectors is an asset
Candidates must have experience with preparing and submitting government remittances (HST, WSIB)
This position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
This is an in-office position working 4 days/32 hours per week
