We currently have an opening for a Project Manager in the Buildings Group in our Vancouver office.
The successful candidate has broad client and project management experience to service clients in the commercial, municipal and industrial buildings sector. Exposure and understanding of civil site works, structural, mechanical and electrical services on both new and existing facilities will be an asset. Responsibilities include leading multi-discipline teams of professionals undertaking project development, planning, permitting and design, estimating and tendering, administering construction contracts, and commissioning of building projects. These projects may include commercial buildings, plant facilities, industrial buildings, institutional buildings, public infrastructure and other related projects. As Project Manager, you will also be responsible for managing the project teams to execute the scope of work within the budget and schedules developed by you and the team. Additional duties include implementing and facilitating quality assurance reviews of the designs, and monitoring, controlling, and reporting on the project status internally and externally to our clients. As you settle into your Project Management role, you will participate in business development, proposal writing, proposal presentations, as well as resource planning and scheduling.
You will be joining a dynamic team in delivering linear and vertical infrastructure projects for a diverse clientele.Responsibilities include the following:
  • Providing a leadership role in the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection.
  • Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases; managing existing clients and subconsultants; and developing new clients.
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Acting as the primary contact for all project-related client communications.
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major building projects.
  • Engaging in business development and leading & preparing technical and financial proposals as well as marketing material
  • Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers and technologists.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines, other Groups and offices.
Job Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC, or eligible for registration.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients with a focus on the Buildings sector.
  • Experience in working on BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure design & planning projects.
  • Experience in working on Alternative Delivery Projects: Public Private Partnerships, Owners Engineer, CM at Risk, and Design Build is an asset.
  • Registration with PMI and PMP designation are an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proven project management and business development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Prior knowledge and experience with indigenous projects is considered an asset
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
