- Engaging with key client stakeholders to understand the business needs driving innovation and digitalization.
- Synchronising business needs with overall solutions structures considering the full people, process, technology interactions necessary for successful implementations in heavy industry.
- Establishing business and solution functional requirements definitions through client engagement and workshopping.
- Overseeing accurate implementation and adherence to functional specifications of overall solutions delivered to clients including supervision and sign off of work done by 3rd parties.
- Having input into the framework, principles and vision that will govern the Hatch’s digital concepts in heavy industry.
- Providing leadership for first-in-class technology implementations and projects.
- Providing active support to the digitalisation projects, helping to develop and manage nimble packages for execution
- Remain abreast of key technology trends,
- Collaboratively engage with clients through the business requirements definition process identifying high value digitalisation use cases,
- Initiate workshops and conduct assessments working with project stakeholders at all working levels,
- Conduct pre-project risk evaluations and project management processes, including start up planning activities
- Formulate execution plans that balance technology investment with risk and benefit thereby providing value to the client through targeted improvement in processes and operations
- Coordinate activities across a broad spectrum of disciplines such as digital, IT / OT, Control & Automation, operating model design and implementation, organizational change management, and facilities.
- Initiate and implement the project plan(s) collaborating with project stakeholders to define scope, goals, deliverables, and project governance
- Manage projects and project teams, leveraging expert resources from the rest of the company
- Manage, monitor, and report overall project health, escalating issues when needed
- Working with Hatch Digital technical teams and experts to transition business needs from functional requirements to technical requirements to design and into a working solution while focussing the end to end effort on the full people, process, technology system
- Conduct project risk evaluations and project management processes, including start up planning activities,
- Take on applicable project leadership roles being responsible for the on time, on budget and on specification delivery of services and solutions,
- Represent the Digital practice at selected conferences, speaking engagements, and other internal and or external industry related events,
- Coach / Mentor others using a hands-on approach to further develop capabilities in Hatch,

- Specific measures of performance will be discussed with and agreed upon with the successful candidate but will include responsibility for the achievement of targets related to the successful delivery of digital engagements in the NA region.
- Bachelors Degree in a related Engineering discipline or Bachelors Degree with Honours in Computer Science or Information Technology. Masters Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant mining, metals or energy discipline with at least 3 years focused on the development, specification or application of Industry 4.0 like applications
- Working knowledge of IT/OT and digital technology trends including ICT and Telecommunication, Control & Automation, IIoT, Blockchain, Big Data, Cloud Computing, AR/VR, Automation, Operations Management and Business Systems
- Proven experience in successfully applying digital technologies / solutions to a very traditional working environment, maximizing organizational performance and productivity with people process technology framework
- Proven technical consulting experience having demonstrated client engagement skills that enabled problem synthesis and solution development through targeted interactions
- Expertise with an agile implementation model and will have demonstrated its effective use on past projects
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of project execution, including project controls, EPCM processes, procurement, contracting and engineering management is preferred
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the ability to distill value during projects
