- Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability strategy that supports organizational objectives and operational excellence;
- Design, implement, and oversee corporate preventative and predictive maintenance systems that maximize equipment reliability;
- Leads and directs ‘Fact Based’ and ‘Data Driven’ decision making through the effective utilization of:
- FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis),
- RAM (Reliability Asset Management) Analysis,
- RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance),
- LCAM (Life Cycle Asset Management), and
- TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies and tools.
- Define life cycle maintenance requirements for all critical equipment, ensuring compliance across sites and service teams;
- Conduct lifecycle costing (LCC) analyses on new, problematic and aging assets, to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions;
- Improve the effectiveness of Sofina’s maintenance teams by developing a Maintenance Management systems and effective practices that lower maintenance costs, improve the skills and knowledge of the maintenance team;
- Provide technical guidance and strategic support to site maintenance teams, empowering and influencing them to achieve reliability targets;
- Evaluate, recommend, and integrate advanced technologies to enhance maintenance practices, such as instrumentation controls, sensors, and predictive analytics;
- Teach coach and mentors maintenance teams in Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement;
- Lead/Support investigations into equipment failures, using RCA methodology, to identify and implement sustainable solutions;
- Establish a culture of accountability by embedding root cause analysis and reliability principles within Maintenance teams;
- Support development and roll-out of a National CMMS program for Sofina and act as the “voice of the customer” in the CMMS system implementation;
- Develop a mechanism to effectively communicate the maintenance strategy and collaborate with senior manufacturing team members to highlight and resolve maintenance related issues;
- Identify and develop KPIs for benchmarking maintenance performance;
- Establish MRO strategies to maintain consistent maintenance inventory practices across Sofina and centralize purchase agreements wherever possible;
- Actively participate in continuously improving the design of process equipment with the goal of improving yields while lowering Total Cost of Ownership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related technical discipline) is required;
- Advanced certifications in reliability (CMRP) would be an asset;
- 10+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance management, or a related field, with progressive responsibility in managing the engineering &/or maintenance activities of a multi-plant organization;
- Proven track record in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance systems, conducting root cause analyses, and leading reliability initiatives;
- Demonstrated experience in building and managing high-performing teams;
- Experience in engineering and maintenance management within the food processing industry would be an asset.
