We are searching for a Quality Control Inspector to join our clients growing team in Levis, QC. As an Inspector in Quality Control - Dimensional, you will ensure the accuracy and alignment of ship structures, assemblies, and outfitting systems during construction or repair projects. You will perform inspections according to the quality control plan, verify procedures and tools, and collect documentation to confirm compliance with specifications, regulations, and standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project procedures, technical drawings, and shipyard/classification standards to prepare inspection plans.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using instruments such as total stations, laser trackers, laser scanners, and dial gauges.
  • Verify the position, alignment, and installation of structures and mechanical components during assembly.
  • Analyze measurement results using software like SpatialAnalyzer or PolyWorks to detect errors.
  • Identify non-conformities and assist in resolving them.
  • Present inspection plans and results to clients and ensure outcomes meet project requirements.
  • Perform calibration tests on tools and instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Contribute to the revision of procedures, inspection reports, quality audits, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with teams to improve dimensional accuracy and work efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality control within manufacturing; experience in surveying/metrology or shipyard work is an asset.
  • Technical diploma or degree in Geomatics, Marine or Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of surveying techniques and operating measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, and 3D models; familiarity with dimensional and geometrical tolerances.
  • Proficiency with modeling software (AutoCAD, Rhino) and metrology software (SpatialAnalyzer, PolyWorks).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of quality control systems and procedures.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.
  • Familiarity with classification society regulations (e.g., Lloyd's, ABS) is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work with clients.
  • Willingness to learn quickly and find practical solutions on site
