Evertz, a growing high-technology company with over 2,000 employees today, is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of broadcast, film production, postproduction and IP distribution equipment for the film, television broadcast and Professional Audio & Video industry.We are currently looking for a Hardware Engineer to join the EvertzAV R&D team. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for all aspects of hardware design from architecture definition, through to component level design, prototyping, validation and transition to mass production. This is a challenging role with a focus on Time to Market, Design for Cost and Design for Manufacturability.Position is based at our HQ facility in Burlington, Ontario.Responsibilities:
  • Complete circuit board level design encompassing analog, digital and use of FPGA / MPSoCs
  • Switch-mode power supply design and development
  • Digital hardware design using VHDL
  • Schematic entry and revision control
  • Work closely with mechanical and PCB layout teams
  • Simulation, timing analysis, testing, prototype hardware debug and validation
  • Close collaboration with other hardware colleagues and software team to debug and/or improve designs
  • Interface and assist the manufacturing test team during transition to mass production
Qualifications:
  • Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited University
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Hardware Engineering role
  • Proficiency with PADS, SPICE, MATLAB, DX Designer, Power Logic
  • Programming experience with C and C++ in an embedded Linux environment
  • Passion for technology, product development, embraces challenges and driven to succeed
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with test equipment, soldering and rework equipment and generally self-sufficient in a hardware lab
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
