Held offers a critical role for a qualified candidate to join our Forensic Engineering/Accident Reconstruction Group Internship program in our Oakville, ON office. Our firm provides expert consultation to both plaintiff and defense lawyers, as well as insurance companies. Our services encompass vehicle accident investigation and reconstruction, suspected fraudulent claim assessments, vehicle fire origin and cause determination, and biomechanics analysis. This position will be primarily office-based, focusing on the following essential tasks and projects:Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough document summaries and draft comprehensive technical reports based on lead Engineer's instructions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Perform in-depth research on specific topics related to ongoing investigations, as directed by the lead Engineer, to support case analysis.
  • Execute complex data analysis and calculations with precision, contributing to the overall investigation process.
  • Meticulously preserve and document physical evidence through accurate measurements, photographs, and detailed notes, maintaining the highest standards of evidence handling.
  • Conduct professional data acquisitions for various electronic control modules, or "black boxes," adhering to strict protocols and procedures.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • Candidates must possess or be actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Engineering or Physics.
  • Individuals with coursework and/or practical experience in Automotive Engineering will be given priority consideration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential. Prior experience in producing technical reports is highly advantageous.
  • A comprehensive understanding and in-depth knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems is an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong commitment to continuous learning, professional excellence, and long-term growth within our organization and the field of accident reconstruction.

  • Must be able to commute and work in person on a hybrid schedule in our Oakville office.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is CAD 25 -30/hour.
