Wage range: $33.92 - $34.42 per hour. Start rate non-negotiable.
Status: Temporary Part-Time (1 year)
Shifts: Required availability every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), remaining shifts scheduled on weekdays- 9 shifts per month total

Closing Date: April 23, 2026Job SummaryThe OTA/PTA is an integral member of the Allied Health and clinical programs in which care is provided. As a member of the Inpatient Geriatrics, MSK, and Multisystem Rehab team, the OTA/PTA:Duties
- Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist, supervises or assists with individual patient treatment programs
- Assists in or conducts group activity/exercise programs
- Assists client to practice with assistive or adaptive equipment
- Instructs and demonstrates the safe use of therapeutic equipment
- Assists in the implementation of new occupational therapy and/or physiotherapy programs and research projects
- Monitors and reports changes in health status to the supervising OT or PT
- Participates in professional, program and hospital-wide initiatives
- Sets up and cleans-up patient treatment areas
- Assists with maintaining equipment and supplies inventory
- Must be adaptable with the ability to cross cover between units based on operational needs
- Position requires availability for every other weekend rotation and the ability to function independently while contributing positively to a collaborative healthcare team
- Successful completion of combined Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Assistant diploma from a recognized Community College
- Knowledge of equipment, e.g., wheelchair supplies and seating equipment, etc.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada
- Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to patient care and the roles of Occupational and Physical Therapy
- Previous experience in MSK care and with geriatric patients is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated computer skills
