GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our valued client’s team in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time position is offered as an Indigenous career opportunity and is ideally suited to an individual interested in beginning or advancing a career in the heavy duty mechanical trade. The role provides hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to a wide range of heavy equipment in a safety-focused industrial environment.Responsibilities:Assist journeyperson mechanics with inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy duty equipmentPerform routine servicing including lubrication, fluid changes, and component replacementSupport diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systemsMaintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with site standardsComplete work orders, service reports, and maintenance documentation accuratelyFollow all site safety procedures, job hazard assessments, and manufacturer guidelinesQualifications:High school diploma or equivalentIndigenous ancestry (self-identified)Registered apprentice or demonstrated interest in pursuing a Heavy Duty Mechanic apprenticeshipValid driver’s licenseMechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environmentPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience working with heavy duty equipment, automotive, or mechanical systemsPrior shop, field, or industrial work experienceFamiliarity with basic hand tools and shop equipmentWork Environment:Industrial shop and field-based work environmentsExposure to heavy equipment, tools, and mechanical systemsWork conducted in accordance with strict safety and PPE requirementsBenefits:Competitive hourly compensation with potential overtimeFull-time, stable employmentOn-the-job training and mentorship from experienced journeypersonsSupport for apprenticeship progression and trade certificationOpportunities for long-term career growth within the skilled tradesComprehensive Benefits Package:
