Reporting directly to the VP, Loblaw Pharmacy Operations, you will play a critical role in driving the operational performance and growth initiatives within our Loblaw pharmacy business. This role is focused on the execution and optimization of programs and processes that enhance pharmacy operations and contribute to our overall business objectives.What You’ll Do:Operational Planning & Analysis
  • Conduct data and trend analysis to support operational planning, resource optimization, and the achievement of business initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of, and execute on, short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Program Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with pharmacy, adjacent businesses, and grocery enterprise teams to operationalize and drive the execution of growth initiatives.
  • Lead special projects focused on integrating pharmacy operations within the broader store environment.
  • Drive the execution of programs designed to enhance and grow the pharmacy business.
  • Manage the execution of pharmacy layout and its integration into the store planning process.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure ROI work for initiatives is accurate and comprehensive to maximize opportunity.
  • Ensure that Compliance, Accreditation, and standard operating procedures are being followed across pharmacy operations.
  • Liaise with HR and regional operations leaders to support the execution of talent programs, tools, and support for store support and store teams, including the identification of future talent, necessary training, and salary planning.
Performance Management & Communication
  • Manage and contribute to effective financial and business reporting for enterprise, grocery partners, executives, and store teams.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for pharmacy operations, driving initiatives to achieve targets.
  • Build strong relationships with our grocery partners based on trust and open and clear communication.
  • Liaise with Accounting and other relevant departments to streamline procedures at store level, enhance CYP, and improve monthly re-forecasting of the business. Manage the admin cost centre planning and forecasting in partnership with finance and VP
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance to identify areas of opportunity, respond with action plans, ensure maximum competitiveness, and meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Analyze, categorize, and communicate relevant corporate objectives and procedures, and liaise with regional resources to optimize labour, develop enhanced working tools for store resources, and drive store profitability.
Transformational Project Execution
  • Drive the execution of cross-functional business transformation projects designed to move Loblaw Pharmacy along the continuum from primarily dispense-based pharmacies to health care practitioners in the community (professional services).
  • Examples include the implementation of Central Fill services, execution of the services labour model, launch of Specialty Health Network Centres of Excellence, and enhanced data & reporting initiatives.
Leadership & Development
  • Focus on growing and developing our next pharmacy leaders, including mentoring, coaching, and sponsoring team members.
What You'll Need:
  • Proven initiative, strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to influence and plan.
  • A good knowledge of our pharmacy operations and grocery business is an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and build trusted relationships across the Enterprise to deliver against goals will be critical to ensure success.
  • Strong knowledge and skill in multiple disciplines/functional areas to be able to draw on this knowledge and experience to appreciate different perspectives, break down roadblocks, and deliver on initiatives.
  • Ability to organize and manage diverse operational initiatives by executing plans and driving results.
  • Strong ability to use data to derive operational insights and drive performance.
  • Ability to identify and implement new techniques and innovative approaches to further continuous improvements.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with multiple exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Connect with clarity, verbally and in one-on-one, group situations, or virtually.
  • Communicate well in writing by composing clear and persuasive presentations/documents; facility with storytelling, editing and/or proof-reading is required. Strong PowerPoint skills and building presentations are a must.
  • Leadership experience, including experience leading in-store operations teams.
  • Digital Literacy to create and interpret reports, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Business sense – outstanding knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, promotional and relationship management principles, and practices.
  • Experience: Greater than five years but less than or equal to ten years pharmaceutical/retail operations, business, marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Education: B.Sc. Pharmacy or equivalent
