Job Category: OperationsJob Description:ATCO Frontec is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roads, buildings and other structures as well as material handling work.This position is based on a 4 week on, 4 week off work rotation with travel, accommodation, and meals are provided.Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders and graders to excavate, move, load and grade earth, rock, and gravel
Operate snow blowers and plough trucks to remove snow from roads and parking lots
Operate heavy equipment to spread or compact road surface materials during road construction and maintenance
Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload cargo
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment
Qualifications: * Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment is required
Valid class 3 driver's license is required
Clean driver's abstract/record is required
Must be able to pass an extensive background check, drug & alcohol test, and fit-to-work test
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
Ability to operate with minimum supervision
