- Lead the Logistics & Warehouse department, ensuring cost-effective inventory management and maintaining service levels.
- Provide strategic advice on inventory planning, forecasts, and stock levels to meet demand requirements.
- Develop, implement, and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure the efficient and timely supply of inventory goods to field and office staff, arranging for packaging, transportation, and delivery.
- Manage department projects and key initiatives to ensure quality and timely completion within budget.
- Plan and administer material requirements for emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and work programs.
- Oversee the operation of all warehouse facilities, including maintenance of equipment and supplies, inventory management, and transfers.
- Supervise shipping, transportation, and delivery of goods.
- Plan, maintain, secure, and optimize warehouse space, including outside storage yards.
- Collaborate with Procurement Services and internal stakeholders to manage inventory and supplier relationships effectively.
- Conduct periodic or special inventory audits and reconcile physical counts.
- Develop and implement improved methods of material handling, stock control, and packaging to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee key equipment repair programs, storage and disposal programs, and PPE programs.
- Plan, organize, and supervise staff, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Provide coaching, development, performance management, technical guidance, and advice.
- Support department goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; APICS or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse operations and inventory management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and warehouse management practices, systems, and methodologies.
- Experience in a unionized utility environment is an asset.
- Proficient in supply chain software, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Radio Frequency (RF) scanning tools.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations, including OHSA, WHMIS, Electrical Utility Safety Rules, Ministry of the Environment (MOE), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Act.
- Knowledge of forklift and overhead crane operations.
- Valid Class G driver's license required.
