DWB Consulting Services Ltd. is seeking a leader, or aspiring leader, to oversee our Environment department in Williams Lake, British Columbia. As a dynamic Environmental Professional (RPBio, PAg, RPF), you will lead a team of skilled staff, including professionals, in-training professionals and technicians, provide professional guidance and advice to staff and clients, maintain and develop new clients, and work on and lead a variety of environmental projects across various market sectors and environmental disciplines.The applicant should enjoy working collaboratively in a demanding, fast-paced environment that provides rewarding work opportunities. (Flexible work schedule).Travel: Some field work and travel can be expected, but most work will be in the Cariboo-Chilcotin Region of central British Columbia.Compensation: $42 - $65 per hours worked plus professional dues, benefits, vacation pay, RRSP program with employer contribution, annual bonus program, and more. Depending on experience, further opportunities for participation in company success are possible. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.Responsibilities:
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring junior team members.
  • Promoting and modeling a progressive safety culture according to DWB safety program.
  • Providing leadership, professional guidance and advice, and project management for a broad range of environmental projects in a variety of natural resource sectors.
  • Interacting with clients on projects as Environmental/Discipline Lead or Project Manager.
  • Leveraging existing and new client relationships to grow environmental market share.
  • Developing quotes, proposals, and other business development related activities to establish new client relationships.
Your education, training, and memberships:
  • Must be a BC-regulated environmental professional (i.e., RPBio, PAg, RPF, PGeo, PEng).
Your skills and experience:
  • At least eight (8) years of demonstrated relevant work experience, including direct staff management.
  • Effective relationship and networking skills are required to help cultivate relationships with clients, First Nations, regulators, and DWB team members.
  • Project management and organizational skills to coordinate and support team members, manage client expectations and project safety, budgets, and equipment.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for mentoring and training team members and supporting their professional development.
  • Ability to review and prepare professional reports, study designs, and develop project proposals and quotes.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize workloads.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations in BC to ensure legal compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategic solutions.
