As a member of the Quantum Architecture team, the selected candidate will work on various aspects of quantum error correction for Xanadu’s photonic quantum computer with a focus on decoding methods for quantum error correcting codes.Basic qualifications and experience:
- MSc or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple competing priorities/deadlines.
- Experience with classical and quantum error-correcting code constructions.
- Expertise in theory and implementation of decoding algorithms for quantum error-correcting codes, especially in message-passing algorithms such as belief propagation and its variants.
- Demonstrated programming skills (include GitHub or similar on CV) and familiarity with version control software such as Git.
- Strong knowledge of mathematics.
- PhD, postdoctoral or industry experience in quantum physics or technology.
- Exposure to FPGAs or ASICs.
- Exposure to C/C++.
- Expertise with Julia (preferred) or Python.
- Experience with decoding both CSS and non-CSS codes
