- Position is based in Fort McMurray, AB
- Standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexibility to support operational priorities
- Relocation to Fort McMurray is required
- Act as the engineering subject matter expert for HVAC and facilities systems across industrial and production facilities
- Ventilation, heating, cooling, pressurization, and air quality systems
- Plumbing and utility systems, including:
- Emergency showers and eyewash systems
- Domestic and industrial plumbing
- Natural gas systems
- Fuel and lube systems
- Compressed air systems
- Troubleshoot HVAC and facilities system issues, including airflow, temperature control, pressurization, and equipment reliability
- Support day?to?day operational needs for assigned production units, responding to emergent facility issues
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to develop practical, executable engineering solutions
- Prepare and review engineering work packages, drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation
- Support Management of Change (MOC) activities related to HVAC, plumbing, and facilities modifications
- Participate in field walkdowns, condition assessments, and deficiency reviews
- Support commissioning, start?up, and handover of new or modified HVAC and facilities systems
- Provide engineering input into maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with APEGA
- 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas and HVAC
- Strong background in HVAC and facility utility systems design, operation, and troubleshooting
- Comfortable working in an operating plant environment, including regular field?based work
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting production?aligned engineering roles
- Familiarity with Alberta codes and standards related to HVAC, plumbing, and building systems
- Experience with MOC processes, commissioning, or facilities asset management
