Electrical Engineer (Controls & Instrumentation)Duration:
6 months extendable contractPrincipal tasks and responsibilities include:
- Lead and support electrical, control, and instrumentation design activities for complex industrial systems.
- Develop control software, instrumentation interfaces, and system-level architecture.
- Contribute to conceptual and detailed equipment design through all project stages.
- Perform assessments of control systems, instrumentation performance, and equipment condition.
- Prepare and execute lifecycle plans, testing programs, and engineering change packages.
- Collaborate with vendors, procurement, construction teams, and internal engineering disciplines.
- Support field engineering activities, troubleshooting, and plant modification work.
- Oversee control system development tasks and provide guidance to junior engineers.
- Produce technical documentation including specifications, reports, evaluations, and design packages.
- Stay current with industry standards and best practices for EC&I systems.
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in design engineering with a focus on EC&I systems.
- Strong knowledge of control system equipment, PLCs, DCS, PID controllers, and control computers.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as C/C++, C#, LabVIEW, and PLC platforms.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and industrial design standards.
- Familiarity with engineering change control, QA processes, and regulated environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Innovative, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
