Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Leadership
  • Oversee all finance operations including AR, AP, payroll, and the general ledger.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate consolidated reporting across multiple divisions.
  • Manage inter-company transactions and schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals.
  • Lead regular cash flow forecasting.
Compliance and Audit
  • Ensure timely submission of HST, WSIB, EHT, and tax filings.
  • Coordinate audits and provide year-end working papers.
  • Maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and corporate registrations.
Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Partner with the VP Finance on annual budgets and re-forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to department managers on financial planning.
Systems and Process Improvement
  • Act as the in-house expert for the Vista by Viewpoint ERP system.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Support system upgrades and integrations.
Project and Construction Accounting
  • Review job cost reporting and maintain WIP schedules.
  • Support labor and equipment costing initiatives.
  • Analyze project margins and cost allocations.
Collaboration and Team Support
  • Partner with operations leaders to support decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve performance.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation
  • 7+ years progressive finance experience with leadership exposure.
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements in finance.
  • Public accounting foundation (Big 4 or strong mid-tier) preferred.
  • Experience in industrial services, manufacturing, or a similarly complex environment a plus.
  • The ability to lead, influence, and execute without waiting for permission
