Our client is seeking an Insurance Risk Consultant to join their growing insurance team. This is a consultative commercial insurance role supporting a diverse portfolio of public sector, non-profit, and complex commercial clients. The successful candidate will provide technical insurance guidance, risk management support, and day-to-day service expertise while helping deliver long-term value to client organizations.Working closely with relationship leaders and internal colleagues, the Insurance Risk Consultant will play a key role in advising clients on coverage, risk exposures, policy servicing, and evolving insurance needs. You are a seasoned commercial insurance professional with strong technical knowledge and a consultative approach to client service. You are comfortable advising clients on coverage, risk management, policy changes, and emerging market conditions. You bring strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of service.You enjoy working collaboratively, both internally and externally, and are confident supporting complex client needs with professionalism and care. You are equally comfortable handling day-to-day servicing requirements and contributing strategic insight that helps clients make informed insurance decisions.Necessary Qualifications Include
  • 5+ years of commercial lines insurance experience at the Account Manager level or higher
  • Level 2 Alberta General Insurance Agent’s License
  • CIP designation completed or in progress
  • CAIB designation considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education in business, insurance, or a related field considered an asset
  • Experience working with a broad range of organizations, including public sector, non-profit, recreational, and complex commercial accounts, considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk management practices
  • Ability to identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and client education skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
What You Will Be Doing
  • Provide technical insurance expertise and high-quality service support to a diverse commercial client base
  • Work closely with internal relationship leaders to support client retention, service delivery, and growth initiatives
  • Advise clients on insurance coverages, risk management strategies, risk transfer solutions, and market trends
  • Support clients with policy servicing, endorsements, evidence of insurance, renewals, and related documentation
  • Analyze client exposures and help determine appropriate coverage and program recommendations as needs evolve
  • Prepare quotations, renewal proposals, and supporting documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist with underwriting submissions for internal and external market placements
  • Coordinate renewal activity, including pre-renewal and post-renewal documentation, presentations, and recommendations
  • Respond to client inquiries and resolve service issues in a timely, professional manner
  • Contribute to client education through presentations, workshops, and webinars
  • Collaborate with internal teams on service improvements, process enhancements, and departmental initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of market developments, coverage changes, and emerging risk trends
  • Travel within the assigned region to support client meetings and service requirements
