Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Our Vision is to be Canadians’ leading choice for all payment and everyday banking activities, extending our market leading position through superior value, innovation, and differentiated experiences that drive acquisition and engagement.In this role, you will be using data and analytics to improve our understanding of client behaviours, competitive positions, as well as improve in-market strategies and inform the design of our suite of products.You will be working collaboratively with the broader Everyday Banking and Client Growth team, and use advanced analytical tools and multiple data sources (e.g. client segment data, bureau data, client behaviour data across all RBC products, online and mobile interaction data) in order to formulate strategies that optimize the business, enhance product construct, and provide value to our customers. You will also be responsible for designing dashboards to support business reviews with Executives and complete deep dives to explain key trends and identify strategic opportunities.What will you do?Leverage complex data to provide analytics and strategic insights for business decisions and to explore new opportunities for banking products, client growth & engagement, payments or a specialized client segments includingDetailed understanding of the product and segment analytics and financialsBusiness insight into acquisition and retention activities, channel performance and market shareInformation in support of business optimization and business casesDeep dives on new product innovationSpecial projects as assignedWork collaboratively with the Banking and Client Growth leadership team, and other analytics teams across the organization to enhance business decision-making through use of reporting, advanced analytics and combining multiple sources of data to measure key indicators of performance and early detection of opportunities, trends & anomalies.Enhance reporting packages through automation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of reports, providing management with concise, timely and insightful information on relevant matters relating to Banking and Client Growth portfolio.Create materials to communicate the insights developed either through new monthly / quarterly reporting or specific stakeholder presentations and working sessions.Work effectively with key stakeholders throughout the analytics and insights process to deliver high quality results aligned to the needs of the business.What do you need to succeed?Must have:Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-based strategic decisions, while looking for opportunities to innovate.Proficiency with data manipulation and analytical tools including Python, Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python.Proven ability to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders in defining and solving business problems.Ability to be effective and equally conversant in business and technical environment.University degree in a quantitative field of study (e.g., statistics, economics, business, engineering) to demonstrate ability for critical thinking & numerical analytics.3 to 5 years related work experience in analytics, product or quantitative strategy roles.Nice to have:Experience in building financial models /valuationsExperience with statistical tools, test design, and predictive analyticsEducation or practice in Data Science, Machine LearningWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
