- As part of the Construction Management Team, you will assist with the inspection and contract administration of a variety of construction projects at Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) including station upgrades, easier access projects; second exits, tunnel fire ventilation, surface track, subway car houses and yards, bus garages and maintenance facilities;
- Inspecting the work materials and methods to ensure that the requirements of the Contract Documents are fulfilled in a safe manner with requisite quality;
- Prepare daily reports for active construction contracts and issues Contract Deficiency Reports including the follow-up on required corrective actions including inspection of same;
- Observing, acting and reporting on any contractual and non-contractual infractions of safety, security, operational interference or TTC customer inconvenience;
- Liaise between the Contractor, TTC staff, utility companies, local municipalities and other external agencies; and
- Other duties as assigned/required.
- Enrolled in a university or college Co-op Engineering program in the civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, or construction management discipline;
- Interest in, or prior experience with construction management;
- Interest in working outdoors in a construction environment and the ability to work independently as necessary;
- Has the desire to learn and a good work ethic;
- Strong safety orientation and commitment;
- Occasional shift work that includes nights and weekends;
- Excellent business and technical writing skills
- Good written and verbal communications skills;
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.
