Do you want to lead a team to deliver results that change the way information is managed in the GoA?If so, we have the job for you!Reporting to the Director, IM Partner Services, the Manager, IM Programs leads a team that ensures all IM functions within departments are integrated and aligned with the GoA IM Strategic Plan, policy instruments, and client business requirements. The position strives to minimize risk, provide storage economy, and enable department users to access records and information in a timely manner - thereby ensuring more knowledgeable and timely decision making and better service to Albertans.Through your team, you will be responsible for delivering the following (but not limited to):
- Translate and apply the GoA IM Strategic Plan into day-to-day service delivery and team priorities.
- Support consultation with clients and staff to ensure that recommendations and services are delivered with a client-centered approach, while ensuring effective business practices and compliance with policy instruments.
- Collaborate with others by providing operational input into the development of policy, standards, guidelines and best/promising practices to enhance information management within GoA.
- Support agencies, boards, and commissions with development of their IM program(s).
- Manage ongoing development of highly skilled, motivated, and productive staff and support their professional learning, achievement of performance plans and development of skills and knowledge.
- Assign and manage balanced project and initiative workload and monitor performance to ensure a high standard of delivery.
- Incorporate clear AI and digital capability objectives into your team's performance and learning plans.
- Support the development of plans to digitalize business processes.
- Collaborate with other service delivery areas to ensure that all services provided to departments are consistent and aligned.
- In-depth consultations with clients to assess business and related process changes with respect to their IM requirements.
- Coach and support department/program staff in the use of available tools, processes, and policy instruments, to ensure the effective, and compliant management of their information assets.
- Use AI to improve efficiency and insight and personalize stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and deliver training sessions using AI-assisted content generation to address specific business challenges.
- Coordinate the activities of various teams that support the continued development, implementation, and enhancement of IM solutions offered to the departments.
- Work directly on large scale, strategic information management projects that impact the GoA as a whole.
- Support the adoption of M365 including SharePoint Online as the GoA's chosen information management solution.
- Leverage AI to address complex problems and automate research and analysis of extensive content sources.
- Lead reviews and risk assessments associated with technology development projects, ensuring that IM risks are identified, documented and appropriately mitigated.
- A university degree or diploma in Records and Information Management, Library and Information Sciences, or a related field supplemented by at least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience.
- Experience in the use and application of AI, and the impact to information management.
- A related master's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience; or
- A related two-year diploma and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience; or
- A related one-year certificate and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience; or
- A minimum of eight (8) years of related experience in lieu of formal education.
