Our client is seeking a Fire Protection Lead to oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of sophisticated fire protection systems. This role combines hands-on engineering work with client engagement and leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who wants to work on technically challenging projects while mentoring a team and collaborating with high-profile clients.Develop schematic and detailed designs for sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, fire pumps, and specialized suppression systemsDirect the production of design drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and Revit in collaboration with design staffEnsure all work complies with applicable codes and standards, including NFPA and local/provincial building codesConduct calculations and equipment sizing for large-scale and high-rise projects, including fire pump and standpipe infrastructureEngage directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the construction phase to address RFIs, scope changes, and site challengesPerform site visits and reviews across residential, commercial, and industrial propertiesLead system commissioning, including fire pump and standpipe systems, and verify code compliance of completed installationsPrepare technical reports and assessments for new projects and retrofitsParticipate in proposal development and client scoping conversations to support business development initiativesQualifications:Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)8-12 years of fire protection experience, with at least 5 years in Canada in a sprinkler design focused roleStrong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and relevant local codesProficiency in AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation software; Revit is a strong assetExcellent communication and client-facing skillsProven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performance team environmentBenefits:Competitive salary and performance-based bonus structureComprehensive extended health and dental coverageProfessional development support (training, certifications, membership fees)Paid vacation, personal days, and statutory holidaysFitness reimbursement programAdditional corporate perks and incentives
