Join our team, and help recognize a healthy future for your career and for all Canadians.Why this role is important?Why is this position important?Specialty Health Network (SHN) by Shoppers is looking to hire a summer student enrolled in a Business/Computer Science/Engineering/Math/Science program to support our Business Intelligence & Insights (BII) department. The student will have the opportunity to put their training into practice and gain valuable practical experience by participating in and supporting special projects and initiatives, as directed by members of the team.The BII department would benefit from a summer student to help complete the administrative tasks that support the functioning of department and assigned program(s). The student will effectively manage all assigned tasks and responsibilities within the prescribed time frame.Your role:The Business Analyst's primary responsibility will be to design and build thoughtful dashboards that provide value add insight into trends, opportunities, performance to targets and benchmarks for programs and recommendations on efficiencies. The Analyst’s role is to assist the business users in getting raw data out of the system to turn it into something meaningful. You will also:Liaise with various stakeholders to understand business needs, translates business and/or operational requirements into conceptual report designsDevelop, validate and design data visualizations, dashboards, queries and reports to analyze trends, monitor and maximize operational excellence, and summarize analyses for report end users which includes internal employees and clientsDeliver said analysis & reports in the most effective way possible for the audienceDevelop and maintain business requirements, functional requirements and technical specification documentation for all reportsJob Requirements:Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. working towards a Computer Science degree)Ability to communicate effectively with all relevant Specialty Health Network teamsKnowledge and understanding of SQL and Power BI are key skillsEffective organizational and communication skillsWell-developed analytical and problem-solving skillsWhat type of worker are you hiring? – EmployeeType of worker: Temporary (fixed term)Time type :Full timeWhy work at Shoppers Drug Mart?
