Status: Regular Part-TimeShift: Monday to Friday (6:00 am to 2:30 pm)In your role as a General Warehouse Person - General Merchandise at The North West Company (NWC), you will pick/count and organizes general merchandise products that have been ordered for our store locations. All orders are populated electronically and employees palletize product to be shipped via truck or aircraft.   • Detail receive PO's into Warehouse 7 and Warehouse 5
  • Prepare and tag orders for distribution to stores
  • Pick in the various zones for daily Basics allocations
  • Organize freight inside the warehouse and outside in the yard;
  • Deliver and stage warehouse 5 & 7 products in designated areas;
  • Manifest and stage orders as required
  • Ability to identify problem PO's and work with supervisor to correct;
  • Sorting of Giant Tiger fashion freight by store
  • Building, wrapping and assisting in the sorting / bringing down of outbound pallets
  • Verifying counts on the pallets
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Previous shipping/receiving experience would be considered an asset;
  • Forklift, high stacker, and electric pallet jack experience an asset but not required;
  • Experience in a food or general merchandise warehouse environment an asset;
  • Able to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently to meet production requirements;
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing and lifting for duration of shift;
  • Ability to lift between 20 to 70 pounds unassisted on a regular basis;
  • Ability to operate an RF hand held computer efficiently and accurately;
  • Ability to read and comprehend packing slips;
  • Must possess a high attention to detail;
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Ability to operate and pull a manual pump truck;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
