In this role, you will represent the owner's operations team, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting industry best practices, and driving operational readiness from design review to project handover.Pay Rate: $Location: Sparwood, BCShift: Monday - Friday | 9 hours a dayJob type: Temporary | Full-time | 12-month contractHere's why you should apply:Paid weekly accurate and on timeStrong health and safety programsMedical and dental benefits once qualifiedFree training programsNew and quicker onboarding processLOA: $4000 / monthMileage: $Responsibilities:Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policiesRepresent the owner's operations team, proactively engage and provide leadership for the H&S OR scope across multiple major water treatment projectsProvide progress updates and reporting on H&S OR deliverables to the Operational Readiness LeadSupport in document and technical design reviews to ensure H&S code compliance and that industry best practices are followedParticipate in project workshops (HAZOPs, HAZID, PSSR, etc.) representing the owner's operations H&S departmentReview of operational documents (Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, EHSC plans, etc.)Develop and coordinate documentation required for the safe operation of new project assets (Traffic management plan, avalanche management plan, emergency response plan, etc.)Expand existing confined space program, lead in the development of confined space hazard assessments and entry procedures Expand existing water operations risk register, to include new project assetsCoordinate the development and delivery of H&S training for new project assetsField H&S support during project handover including but not limited to: participation in system walk-downs and planning of commissioning activitiesCo-ordinate with hygiene lead to execute the health and hygiene OR readiness scopeAny H&S deliverables required for the successful handover and start-up of new project assets as assigned by the Operational Readiness LeadQualifications:Minimum five years H&S experience in the mining or heavy construction industriesCurrent CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designationExperience in the recognition, evaluation and control of confined space hazards.Basic understanding of regulatory framework associated with appropriate local, national and international safety and environmental regulationsIntermediate level skills for Microsoft Office productsExperience working on large scale projects, process plant operation, or hazardous chemical industry is considered a valuable assetMust be legally eligible to work, and reside in CanadaAre you interested in this position?
