(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)YesJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority,patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Supervisor or designate, the Laboratory Combined Technologist receives and completes requisitions, forms and reports; monitors patients; performs general imaging procedures, as qualified, including archiving acquired images; carries out routine Laboratory and ECG testing, as qualified; utilizes computerized patient data systems; and prepares and monitors supplies and equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized combined Laboratory/ Medical Radiography Technician Program; One (1) year recent related experience; or An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Skills And Abilities
