- Responsible for the management, integration, and optimization of financial systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Bonfire, Questica, and Millennium).
- Managing project timelines, deliverables, and reporting for finance-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Providing training, guidance, and ongoing support to staff and the broader user community on financial systems and tools. Managing Sheridan Central repository of information, guides and other resources for Financial Services content.
- Developing and maintaining centralized data warehousing and integration frameworks to support financial reporting and analytics.
- Supporting preparation of regular financial reporting for Finance Management and for Board of Governor meetings. Supporting the development and maintenance of finance policies and procedures.
- Providing leadership in aligning system capabilities with compliance requirements. Acting as the primary liaison with IT, consultants and external auditors, ensuring timely access to data, coordination of system upgrades, process enhancements, and coordinating year-end audit process.
- Building, leading and empowering a diverse and capable team; Maintaining a high level of staff performance and building professional capacity through effective recruiting, selection, learning/development, mentoring/coaching, scheduling, workflow/goal setting and ongoing performance management and evaluation.
- Performing other duties, tasks and projects assigned.
- 4-year bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years Demonstrated experience in financial systems management and analytics
- Must have CPA designation
- Must have strong data integration and reporting skills, including use of Excel, database inquiry tools, and data visualization platforms
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing finance-related projects
- Must have familiarity with public sector financial compliance, audit cycles, and board reporting
- Ability to develop and implement finance policies and procedures
- Strong project management and change management capabilities
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to manage employees and collaborate across departments
- Must have current knowledge of: Canadian GAAP including Public Sector Accounting standards and financial compliance.
- Experience working in a college/university environment is preferred
