Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Reporting directly to the SVP & CFO Personal & Commercial Banking in this role you will lead development and management of the Performance Management process, including linkage with business strategy for RBC. In this role we are looking for strong business acumen and ability to attract, hire, grow and mentor top talent within this team and RBC. This role also acts as a key partner with other heads of finance in Canadian Banking and other centres of expertise across Finance.What will you do?Lead Financial and Management Reporting for the Personal Financing ProductsCommunicate and execute on overall vision and direction for this finance teamDeliver strategic financial guidance that enables business partners to optimize decision-making and enhance profitabilityEnsure profitability and efficiency benchmarks are consistently achievedDrive cost and revenue growth strategies with the business, including assessment of impact on financial results for the businessDrive sustainable business growth and profitability by systematically evaluating pricing strategies and identifying high-potential market opportunitiesDrive operational excellence by benchmarking business processes against industry standards and implementing efficiency gainsTransform/leverage existing practice towards driver based forecasting and leading and lagging indicators and metrics to enhance financial transparencySupport business partners in development of their overall business strategiesLead/proactively participate in delivering value add services, efficient financial process and superior financial disciplineWork with Financial Control partners to ensure accurate accounting and adherence to accounting principles and guidance for all items impacting the financial statementsLead efforts to simplify and fully understand the complex cost structures – direct and indirect expenses and allocations across multiple businessesWhat do you need to succeed?Must Have
  • Proven leadership to provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development
  • Professional accounting or finance designation such as CFA, CPA or business degree
  • Ability to efficiently and reliably map out and analyze a product or process; produce a financial model to project the financial impact of that new product or process
  • Superior financial modeling skills (ie in depth understanding and employment of structured modeling processes is critical, strong Excel modeling skills)
