Number13371SharemoreRohde & Schwarz Technology Systems group is looking for a highly motivated Secure/Radio Communications System Engineer as part of the Canadian projects team. As a Technology Systems Engineer, you will be part of a customer-focused team dedicated to supporting our customers with their existing solutions as well as through the development of new business. This position is based out of our Canadian headquarters in Ottawa. The position allows for the worker to work from home for the majority of the time, but meeting facilities and a lab are available in the office.Your tasks
  • Provide pre/post sales technical support to customers
  • Work with customers and product management/development teams to solve customer problems
  • Work with customers to understand their requirements and develop a solution based on the R&S portfolio of products
  • Support development of technical designs and proposals
  • Lead development of designs and documentation according to customer requirements and internal standards.
  • Support installation, integration and test of solutions delivered to customers as required
  • As required, engage in field service support and repair of customer issues
  • Support development of strategy as a subject matter expert
  • Perform demonstrations, training and participate in trade shows
  • Methodically evaluate and test new products to support fielded customer with upgrades.

  • BSEE, MSEE or other relevant engineering degree
  • 5+ years of experience in RF systems
  • Strong RF system deployment experience preferred
  • Understanding of antenna co-site interference and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with Canadian government contracting highly beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques for analyzing various systems.
  • In-Depth knowledge of HF/VHF/UHF military radio communications
  • Experience with IP networks, RF waveforms, and modems
  • Familiar with military communication testing standards relevant to deployment of military equipment
  • Ability to travel throughout North America and Europe up to 20%.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be Canadian citizen capable of receiving a security clearance
