New Employees will require clearance from Employee Health, Safety and Wellness before they are able to begin any position within WRHN.Position Summary:The Senior Consultant is responsible for:

Providing support and leadership for risk management throughout the organization
Managing the legal claims administration process and related correspondence with hospital insurer, adjuster and legal counsel
Providing advice and consultation to internal stakeholders in response to risk inquiries
Coordinating risk management and enterprise risk management projects/initiatives such as the Risk Assessment Checklist (RAC) process and the Enterprise Risk Management Plan)
Development, implementation and review of policies and processes required to reduce risk within the organization
Participation on corporate committees and working groups from a risk management perspective
Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor degree in Business or Health Services Administration or a health related discipline (preferred)
Certification in healthcare risk management and/or patient safety (preferred)
Previous experience in a large-scale health care setting preferably in risk management, patient safety and/or quality management
Interest and ability to acquire and perform new skills
Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks and time demands
Superior judgment, tact and diplomacy including proven meeting and group facilitation skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills including the ability to present information to large groups
Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency including all Microsoft applications
Experience with data analysis measurement and techniques
Collaborating with quality, safety and patient experience teams to ensure risk initiatives align with the hospital’s quality improvement goals, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
