With some of the most valuable IPs in the world and the resources EA has to offer, we have access to the capabilities needed to deliver amazing new experiences for an expanded audience of players worldwide.Your Responsibilities: We are looking for a well-rounded character artist with an emphasis on creating game-ready clothing. We are looking for someone who understands character creation as a whole but has an interest and passion for clothing.You will need to demonstrate solid grounding in industry standard techniques for creating game-ready clothing such as efficient topology, UV layout, texture baking and creation, outfit recreation from photo reference, and working with scan data. You will need to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in Maya, Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.Having additional experience in creating modular and interchangeable clothing in a character customization system is a plus.Our character artists are dynamic and efficient modelers with sculpting and texturing skills - able to create outstanding content with an imagination that is constantly in motion. We are looking for a candidate who will also help by bringing in fresh new ideas for workflows and is someone who can mentor others while creating a positive, healthy work environment.Your Qualifications
  • Experienced with 3+ year of industry character creation production especially with regards to clothing and accessories
  • Understanding anatomy, movement and cloth deformation is essential.
  • Experience in high-fidelity 3D modeling / sculpting techniques, along with high-poly to low-poly surface/detail baking.
  • Experience in Maya, Z-Brush and Marvelous Designer are necessary.
  • Knowledgeable in PBR texture / material workflows.
  • Experience in authoring photo-realistic textures in Substance Painter and Photoshop. Experience in Substance Designer is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret concept art and limited photo reference and translate it into a successful 3D representation.
  • Experience in working with content-driven game engines (e.g. Unreal, Frostbite, Unity).
  • Experience in creating game resolution topology geared for deformation and rigging.
  • Must understand how clothing is created and how to achieve a proper fit.
  • Efficient in use of UV layout and ability to edit for highest visual payoff.
Portfolio Requirements:
  • Photo-real character modeling and texturing - hair, clothing and likeness. Showing UV layout and all maps.
  • Full game ready outfits that demonstrate your workflow.
  • Concept to model experience is a plus.
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. ยบ $89,300 - $123,000 CAN AnnuallyBase salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
