Heavy Equipment Technician / MechanicLOCATION: Ancaster, ONWORK ENVIRONMENT: In-ShopTYPE: Full-Time (Monday-Friday / Day Shift)Join Joe Johnson Equipment as a Heavy Equipment Technician with the potential to grow into a Lead Hand role! In this hands-on position, you'll perform mechanical repairs, troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems, and complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on a diverse range of specialized equipment.EQUIPMENT SERVICED: Hydro-vacs, vac trucks, refuse equipment, street sweepers
*Infrastructure maintenance equipmentSIGNING BONUS:
  • 310T or 421A Licensed - $2,500.00
  • 310T or 421A Apprentices - $1,000.00
  • All other ticketed mechanics - $1,800.00
What You Bring
  • Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T) preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Mechanic or 3+ years’ working experience
  • Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
  • Experienced with hydraulic and electrical work
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by Joe Johnson Equipment
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools
