- Apply for various permits to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ's) such as, MTO, PUCC, MECP etc and facilitate the project construction activity.
- Follow up with the AHJ's reviewers to ensure PLAA items and permit applications are being processed by the AHJ's prescribed review period.
- Facilitate and distribute all AHJ's comments to the appropriate Project Team Leads and Consultants once the AHJ's comments are issued.
- Prepare, coordinate, update and share with the Project Team and Client a PLAA tracking system to track the progress of the PLAA's to ensure the key construction milestones in the Project Schedule are being achieved.
- Develop a Shared PLAA Directory including a separate Permitting Tracker in consultation with Project Team and Client, and maintain/update all PLAA applications and documents, AHJ's comments, responses, submissions, and resubmissions for all the PLAA's.
- Liaise with Client, AHJ's and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Update, coordinate, and assist PLAA Manager with Project Team Meetings with Construction, Scheduling, Design and Communication management teams on the progress of each PLAA items and permit applications.
- Advise of critical issues/constraints that could hold up PLAAs / permit approvals.
- Prepare and update Monthly Project Progress Reports and spreadsheet trackers pertaining to PLAA's processes and progress including PLAA risk items (AHJ comments to plans/documents) with Project Team.
- Prepare and support various senior management reports with PLAA updates as required.
- Work with document control to keep track of project reports and plan submittals.
- Assist PLAA Manager with coordinating and communicating with Project Team members from Construction, Design, Scheduling and Communications to incorporate the respective team's necessary input for each PLAA items in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Project team including the Client on the PLAA submission packages for the AHJ's.
- The PLAA Coordinator in consultation with the PLAA Manager will develop and maintain a “Weekly PLAA Project Work Program” to do list to manage, prioritize and communicate the PLAA project tasks.
- 3+ years of related experience and transferable skillset with permitting, licensing and approvals.
- Knowledge of PLAA processes of the construction of major infrastructure projects in Ontario ,GTA and local municipalities.
- Bachelor or advanced degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Urban Planning, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Architecture or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Excel, including formulas (SUM, AVERAGE, COUNTIF), sorting, and filtering."
- Experienced in data entry, formatting, and maintaining spreadsheets to track and manage PLAA project items
- Excellent working knowledge on computer programs such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Aconex, Primavera P6 and Bluebeam.
- Project Management Certificate preferred.
- Acquainted with project management processes and techniques.
- knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures, and permit requirements, including the Ontario Water Resources Act, Building Code Act, Planning Act, Municipal Act, etc.
- Experience working/communicating and establishing strong working repour with Clients, Team Leads, Consultants, Contractors and Governmental Authorities AHJ's .
- Background Check & Security Clearance.
- Valid Driver's License.
