  • Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a plumber or welder.
  • Must hold a medical gas system verifier or a medical gas system installer license issued under the Boiler Pressure Vessel Act.
  • Must have or be willing to acquire Backflow Prevention Certification.
  • Must have two years of experience.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Good work record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe Plumber/Medical Gas Technician is responsible for:
  • Installing, modifying, troubleshooting and maintaining medical gas systems and system components
  • Taking medical gas readings and testing medical gas system components
  • Rebuilding gas outlets
  • Sourcing and requisitioning new equipment and parts for repair and maintaining inventory
  • Installing, modifying, repairing and maintaining plumbing systems
  • Installing, modifying, repairing and maintaining the plumbing components of a heating, ventilation and air control system
  • Installing, maintaining and testing back flow preventative equipment
