Brief Description:Our client is a well-established real estate owner and property management company with over 20 years of experience and a diversified portfolio across retail, office, industrial, and residential assets. They are seeking an experienced Commercial Leasing Law Clerk/Paralegal to join their in-house team, with a primary focus on retail leasing. This role works closely with internal leasing, property management, and legal stakeholders to support lease negotiations and documentation across the portfolio.The ideal candidate has strong retail leasing experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.Job Function:
- Draft and revise retail leasing documents including offers to lease, leases, amendments, renewals, extensions, assignments, and consents
- Assist with lease negotiations by reviewing business terms and incorporating negotiated changes
- Translate commercial deal terms into clear and enforceable lease documentation
- Manage leasing transactions from offer stage through execution
- Prepare lease abstracts and critical date summaries
- Liaise with tenants, tenant counsel, brokers, and external legal counsel
- Track conditions, deliverables, and execution timelines
- Maintain accurate and organized leasing files
Job Requirement:
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent legal or real estate education
- 3-5+ years of commercial leasing experience, with strong retail exposure
- Experience assisting with lease negotiations and documentation
- Solid understanding of retail leasing concepts (CAM/TMI, exclusives, percentage rent, fixturing periods)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active files
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
